Which Is More Hygienic?

Both can be hygienic when built to 3A/ASME BPE finishes. The edge goes to welded for a given line because it removes the clamp gasket seam entirely – one fewer crevice. Tri-clamp is still excellent provided the gasket is correct, inspected and replaced on schedule. Hygiene is won by discipline as much as by joint type.
